To Stage or Not to Stage?

It's true, this year has been one for the books! With low percentage rates and high demand, houses have flown off the market.

I had a lot of people ask me if staging was worth it even in a hot market. My answer is yes! Staging doesn't have to be bringing in full living room and dining room sets. It can mean hiring a home stager that will walk through the home with the owner to give them pointers on how to make their home shine. This service is a fraction of the cost of staging a vacant home, while still bringing in results!

Every home's needs are different! So starting with a home staging consultation, where we walk through the home with the homeowner, is a great place to start. It allows us the opportunity to see what we can work with and what needs to go. It helps create space and purpose to areas that may be overcrowded or under utilized.

Here are a few takeaways from the 2021 Profile of Home Staging from the National Association of Realtors:

  • Eighty-two percent of buyers’ agents said staging a home made it easier for a buyer to visualize the property as a future home.

  • When staging a home, 23 percent of sellers’ agents reported an increase of one percent to five percent of the dollar value offered by buyers, in comparison to similar homes.

  • Eighteen percent of respondents stated that staging a home increased the dollar value of the home between six and 10 percent.

  • None of the respondents reported that staging a home had a negative impact on the home’s dollar value.

This year for Saved by Grace Home Staging and Design, LLC. it has been BUSY! We have been staging vacant homes, occupied homes, conducting home staging consultations, and design work all right here in the Twin Cities!
